Lisa Agard

Lisa Agard is a dedicated French teacher with a passion for languages and cultural exchange. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in French Language and Literature, She is also an alumnus of Université Nancy 11 and Accent Français in France. She also honed her skills in the French Language at the Université des Antilles in French Guiana. Lisa is skilled in creating engaging and interactive lessons that focus on conversational skills, grammar, and French culture. With over 15 years of teaching experience, Lisa has helped students of all ages and backgrounds and is committed to fostering a love for the French language! Outside the classroom she is a Distinguished Toastmaster.

Andre Lewis

Dr. André Lewis, an esteemed alumnus of the University of California, Davis with a Ph.D. in French and Francophone Studies, has profoundly influenced both K-12 and Adult Education, emphasizing language acquisition, educational innovation, and leadership. His academic career spans roles as Head of Curriculum, Instruction, and Innovation at Georgetown International Academy, and French Lecturer at the University of Guyana. Adapting to the emergence of technological innovations, Dr. Lewis has advocated for modern teaching techniques and technologies, notably in foreign language instruction. Andre loves to dance and enjoys sports like hockey and rugby.

Eva Matei

Eva was born in Romania and in addition to her native tongue, is fluent in English, French and Dutch. She has a Bachelor Degree in English and French Language & Literature from Lower Danube University. She has over 20 years of experience offering private classes and teaching at language institutes, including the Alliance Française. In her free time, Eva enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading as much as she can and listening to music from around the world!

Malkia Payne

Malkia Payne is a Guyanese native with a passion for languages whose career spans 20 years. She completed her BA at the University of Guyana, graduaring with a Major in Spanish and a Minor in French. She also holds a Diploma in Education from the University of Guyana. During her studies she taught French and other Foreign Languages at Bishops’ High School in Georgetown. She became member of the Alliance Française while doing her GCE A’Levels in French. She currently leads the Modern Language Department at President’s College on the East Coast of Demerara. Malkia loves children, loves to travel and loves to see the French Language in use.

Amandine Conreux-Giorgetti

Amandine is a French native who She studies International Relations and Diplomacy at the Science Po Univeristy in Paris. She discovered the Alliance Française within weeks of arriving in Georgetown for a study trip, and immediately volunteered to assist with children’s classes and activities. She previously gave private French classes to the children of expats in Israel and enjoys teaching through play.
