Frédéric Dolidzé – renowned sommelier
For over 30 years, he’s balanced two worlds: protecting celebrities like Rihanna as a bodyguard and supplying fine wines to Michelin-starred legends such as Paul Bocuse, Alain Ducasse, Myriam Cherkoui, Gilles Goujon, Georges Blanc, and Fabrice Sommier.
Our special guest, Frederic Dolidze, renowned sommelier, is making an appearance for the first time in Guyana!
Born in the vineyard-rich hills of Franche-Comté, he discovered his passion for wine early, working among the vines during school holidays. His passion led him to study at the École Hôtelière.
His journey took an unexpected turn when he joined the army, serving as a sniper and mastering Krav Maga combat, while traveling extensively around Africa and the Middle East.
But wine kept calling. He pursued Somellier certifications and completed a Master’s at the Université du Vin in Suze-la-Rousse, in the heart of Drôme Provençale. His hands-on experience spans vineyards from South Africa to Oregon with Joseph Drouhin and the prestigious Rothschild family.
A man of precision, passion, and palate—his story blends adventure and refinement, proving that wine is not just a drink, but a way of life.

French Conversation Meetup : Special Guest
Born in Georgetown and raised by a determined single mother, Wonesha’s path took her to the small town of Maripasoula, in French Guiana, where at 11 she faced the challenge of adapting to a new culture and language. She embraced it fully, studying Tourism at a vocational school and setting her sights on education abroad.
At 19, that dream came true when she moved to Sarrebourg, France. Now, with diplomas in Tourism, Customer Service, and Small Business Management, Wonesha is ready to return home—bringing back resilience, knowledge, and an inspiring story of perseverance.

French Teacher Appreciation Day, JIPF 2025
The Alliance Française of Guyana will host its first ever International Day of French Teachers, a global initiative which honors the dedication of French educators and promotes the richness of francophone culture. This year’s theme, “Chanter, jouer, enseigner : la francophonie en musique”, highlights the power of music as a tool for teaching and connection. The Guyana event will feature a full day of activities designed to uplift and engage educators. The programme includes wellness workshops, interactive games, musical sessions, and a film screening—all centered on creativity, pedagogy, and community. Highlights include:
• A French-style breakfast, sponsored by French Tradition GY
• A yoga and meditation workshop by Tatiana Nozdrenkova, from Zenyoga.be
• Ice breakers and team-building activities with local French teachers
• A music workshop featuring karaoke and a jam session with Christian Sobers, from Music Unlimited using the event’s theme song by Benjamin Piat
• A virtual conference with French educator Mélanie Olivier on using music as a pedagogical tool
• A traditional French lunch sponsored by Newrest Guyana and screening of the French film Un métier sérieux by Thomas Lilti

The board of the Alliance Française of Guyana is pleased to invite you to its Annual General Meeting (AGM) taking place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 3 pm to 5 pm, at Cara Lodge.

The Alliance Française du Guyana will be celebrating another edition of this popular annual music concert at the Umana Yana in the capital city of Georgetown. A small creative activity will be organized for the kids to make art with their crepes and fruit!
