Established in 1950 at the heart of Georgetown, the Alliance Française de Guyana is an association dedicated to providing a wide range of comprehensive French language courses. To complement our course offerings, we also offer a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture of France (and francophone countries around the world) through our unique & diverse cultural programs and social meetups.
The Alliance Francaise is also a hub for French expatriates and people from French-speaking countries from around the world moving to or living in Georgetown, to connect and socialize.
“Language is about being able to converse with people, to see beyond cultural boundaries and find a shared humanity. ” – Timothy Doner, the world’s youngest hyperpolyglot. Join us today!
Always wanted to learn or improve your French? The Alliance Française is the place for you! We provide classes for children and adults from levels A1 – B1.
We also run monthly social meetups to give people an opporutunity to mingle with French natives and members of our Francophone community!
The Centre hosts workshops and cultural activities as a fun way for members to practice their French while learning more about the culture in France – from its food to its traditions.
The Alliance invites the public to celebrate French culture through a series of annual events such as the popular Fete de la Musique (music festival), film screenings, social gatherings as well as celebrations of French national holidays.
The Alliance Francaise of Guyana provides certified translation services to those wishing to get documents like birth certificates translated from French to English, or English to French.
Our translations are certified by the French Consul, and accepted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
